Another thing about that “Don’t get offended if a john tries to pick you up” post
Our heroine Felicity felt offence merely because someone mistook her for something she was not.
You won’t see a piece on Tumblr lecturing trans people on how they’re allowed to react when they’re accidentally misgendered. Only females are expected to constantly modify our behavior so as not to inconvenience or displease anyone.
It’s so fucking stupid. I’m not “whorephobic” or discriminating against sex workers if I don’t want some creep tailing me in his car. It’s also completely disingenuous. They’re really saying “How dare you think you’re above being seen as an object, bitch.”
I feel bad for women stuck living or working around these places - apparently they have no right to be left alone. I’ve been propositioned a couple of times in areas I didn’t know were pick-up spots and it’s disturbing.
Emphasis mine.
Skully Pens: 11 Signs You're A Men's Rights Activist
Text (would be legible on actual shirt):
1. You have no problem with the gender wage gap. But you hate having to pay for dates.
2. You insist that it’s a scientifically proven fact that men are stronger than women. But you complain about society believing that it’s worse for a man to hit a woman than for a woman to hit a man.
3. You believe that the age of consent is unfair and that there’s nothing wrong with having sex with teenage girls. But when you find out that a teenage girl enjoys sex, you believe she’s the biggest slut in the world.
4. You hate when a woman automatically assumes that a man is a douchebag before getting to know him. But when you like a woman who likes another man, you assume he’s a douchebag just because he’s not you.
5. You believe that if women want equality, they should be drafted into the military. But you also believe that the military is not a place for women.
6. You hate when women assume that men are like wild animals. But you believe that a woman who doesn’t cover up and make herself invisible to men is just like someone wearing a meat suit around wild animals.
7. You hate the fact that men are bullied for not conforming to their male gender roles. But when you find out that a man disagrees with your beliefs about women’s rights, your immediate response is to try to emasculate him by comparing him to a woman as an insult.
8. You hate when women assume that there are no nice guys. But you call yourself a nice guy and act like it’s a rare quality that should cause women to be all over you.
9. You hate when women assume that men just want to get laid. But when you find out that a man is a feminist, you assume that he’s just doing it to get laid.
10. You hate when women make generalizations about all men. But when a woman calls you out for being sexist, you claim that all men think like you.
11. You insist that women should be responsible for protecting themselves from being raped. But when they follow the one piece of advice that actually works, which is being aware of red flags, you complain about them assuming that all men are rapists.

Young man shot and killed when he pulls into driveway of wrong address
Rodrigo Diaz, 22, was driving around with his girlfriend and two friends when he pulled into a driveway, thinking they had arrived at another friend’s house, his brother says. But instead he pulled into the driveway of Phillip Sailors, 69, who thought his home was being robbed, his lawyer says.

Gordon Parks, Dr. Kenneth B. Clark conducting the Doll Test, Harlem, New York, 1947
In the “doll test,” psychologists Kenneth and Mamie Clark used four plastic, diaper-clad dolls, identical except for color. They showed the dolls to black children between the ages of three and seven and asked them questions to determine racial perception and preference. Almost all of the children readily identified the race of the dolls. However, when asked which they preferred, the majority selected the white doll and attributed positive characteristics to it. The Clarks also gave the children outline drawings of a boy and girl and asked them to color the figures the same color as themselves. Many of the children with dark complexions colored the figures with a white or yellow crayon. The Clarks concluded that “prejudice, discrimination, and segregation” caused black children to develop a sense of inferiority and self-hatred. This photograph was taken by Gordon Parks for a 1947 issue of Ebony magazine. (via)
This test was conducted again in 2005 with the exact same results.
This is so disturbing and depressing :(
Angela Strassheim - Evidence
Evidence is a group of photographs taken at homes where familial homicides have occurred. Long after the struggles have ended in these spaces, despite the cleaning, repainting and subsequent re-habitation of these homes, the “Blue Star” solution activates the physical memory of blood through its contact with the remaining DNA proteins on the walls. The black and white images are long exposures – from ten minutes to one hour – with minimal ambient night light pouring in from the crevices of windows and doors, capturing the physical presence of blood as a lurid glow.
New Delhi, India
Dec. 23, 2012
Protesters shield themselves as Indian police beat them with batons during a violent demonstration near the India Gate against a gang rape and brutal beating of a 23-year-old student on a bus last week. The attack a week earlier sparked days of protests across the country.
Pakistani children light candles to pay tribute to Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims in southern Pakistani port city of Karachi on Dec. 15, 2012.
This will never be on the news. But how awesome of this picture to see some light.
This warms my heart tremendously, while also making me so sad.

OMFG PAUL!! XD
Yoko gets way, way too much hate. John abused her, and yet! Of course all that happened with the band was her fault. It’s not like the guys were capable of falling apart on their own. Nope. John’s second victim (that we know of) is clearly to blame for it all.
What fucking nonsense.
